Choosing a Charge Controller
When choosing a charge controller we want to make sure that the current, voltage and output power match our needs. For additional information on charge controller visit the notes section.

One controller we could use is the Conext MPPT 60 PV MPPT Solar Charge Controller from the Schneider range. It has the following limits:
Max voltage 150 V
Max Current = 48 A (@stc)
Max output power of 3.5 kW
Max input power of 6.7 kW (anything above 3.5 kW is cut off)
This charge controller in combination with our chosen module is capable of 3 modules in series resulting in 141 Volts, and 4 parallel strings resulting in approximately 40 Amps giving us a total of 12 modules. This would suffice for the 'with generator' scenario. Should we require additional pv modules it would be necessary to introduce a 2nd charge controller.
